After a few days of catching up it’s time to get back at it. First order of business, a quick review of the Pacific Nations Cup tournament as a whole.
The rain held off in Tokyo after all and the fans were treated to some tremendously exciting rugby from all four teams on show. Here’s a review of Sunday’s action.
Sunday is a rugby day! Fiji face Tonga for Pacific Nations Cup glory, and the United States will be hoping to escape the dungeon and a tournament whitewash against Japan.
An historic victory for Japan over Wales, a redeeming victory for Tonga, a return to form for the All Blacks, and impressive stuff from the Lions in New South Wales.
Another eight tests on the horizon this weekend, so best to keep them in two parts once again. First, to fantasy land! A story of eagles, dragons, lions, and cockerels!
New caps, old caps, top point scorers, injuries, suspensions, and loads of squad changes. Check inside for the odds and ends that you might not have noticed from the weekend.
A rout in Durban, a scrap in Kingston, a steamrolling in Salta, and a showdown in Houston closed out the big weekend. Time for part two of this week’s reviews.
Now on to four more in part two. The Springboks host Italy, Tonga lines up the Canadians, England ventures to Argentina, and Ireland face an impressive Eagles lineup in Texas.
