It was a fine day of rugby all around on Saturday, with plenty of exciting football on display. The highlight reels will be full of individual magic and big hits.
There are five Saturday matches to look forward to, including the jewel in the crown, the first Lions test against Australia. The South African tournament concludes, and Georgia visit Argentina.
There were some exceptional individual performances this past weekend, making some of the selections for this week’s team very difficult indeed. Here are the fifteen that arguably impressed the most.
Samoa and South Africa book an appointment after solid wins, England cruises to a series win in Buenos Aires, and the Canadians run out of steam against Ireland in Toronto.
An historic victory for Japan over Wales, a redeeming victory for Tonga, a return to form for the All Blacks, and impressive stuff from the Lions in New South Wales.
Now for part two. Italy, Samoa, South Africa and Scotland introduce Nelspruit to international rugby, England look to a series win in Argentina, and Canada host struggling Ireland in Toronto.
Another eight tests on the horizon this weekend, so best to keep them in two parts once again. First, to fantasy land! A story of eagles, dragons, lions, and cockerels!
