The final week of the Pacific Nations Cup gets underway in a few short hours as the North American sides chance their arm in the land of the rising sun.
FIJI vs UNITED STATES
Wednesday, June 19, 08:10 GMT, Nagoya
Fresh off defeat from Tonga and a long flight away from home, Mike Tolkin has opted to rest most of his front line players, with an eye towards the Cherry Blossoms instead. After recovering from a knee injury, star prospect Cameron Dolan makes his much anticipated debut at no8, with Todd Clever left on the bench. Louis Stanfill stands in as captain, with Graham Harriman and Nick Wallace each earning a first test start.
Fiji have retained most of the side that defeated the classic All Blacks in Suva a week ago, a lineup considerably improved with the addition of several top pros. The impressive back row is anchored by France-based Masi Matadigo, and classy veteran Seremaia Bai stands alongside younger brother Setareki Koroilagilagi in the midfield. Outside them are four deadly finishers who average in the neighbourhood of 109kg per man.
You almost have to feel for the poor American backline in this one. Their only chance is if their forwards can starve the Fijians of possession, but this is very nearly the full strength pack they are facing, and the back row is first rate. The Eagles will be having nightmares over the giant Fijian flyers as they are put to the sword in a 25 point shellacking.

JAPAN vs CANADA
Wednesday, June 19, 10:10 GMT, Nagoya
Eddie Jones has made only three changes to the side that defeated Wales. Yusuke Nagae, Justin Ives, and Shinya Makabe each swap their bench spots for starting ones, just enough to freshen up the pack for what will be a physical encounter.
Canada have sent several players to train for the Sevens World Cup, and have changed their halfback combination for the fifth straight match. Jon Phelan and Brett Beukeboom form a new second row partnership, and Nanyak Dala starts for the first time in a year. Uncapped Cameron Pierce, Aaron Flagg, and Mike Fuailefau are in the reserves.
The Canucks have their work cut out for them. Absent several first choice players, they will be facing a very confident Japanese side at home, who despite being short on rest should be considered heavy favourites. Expect the visiting pack to make a good fist of it, but the pace of the Japanese attack will deny the Canadians their undefeated tournament record and secure a healthy 12 point victory.
